Sandra S. Dartus, CFEE Nonprofit Marketing & Event Consultant, New Orleans, LA, USA
I have been in the tourism industry since 1983, first with the development of the Jackson Brewery Marketplace in the heart of the Vieux Carre across from Jackson Square, and then as the original director of the French Quarter Festival for more than 20 years, an iconic New Orleans event that attracts nearly 500,000 participants. I am a member of Skal, have served on local and state travel industry boards, created or worked on tourism events in Dallas, TX, Jackson, WY, and various areas of Louisiana, and have spoken about tourism at many levels, including in Innsbruck. I have been active in the International Festivals and Events organization where I obtained my CFEE designation. I am prolific traveler and am deeply interested in the future of international tourism, particularly in these times of uncertainty.
