I have over 15 years’ experience gained in all aspects of hotel, resort and restaurant development and operations with a particular focus on hotels and apartments.
I have been responsible for opening new operations where I have led cross-functional international teams in all aspects of the development, start up and operational phases of projects. I have also held senior management positions, including general management, finance, marketing and business development in hotels and restaurants in Spain, Egypt and Ireland where responsibilities included: day-to-day leadership and management for all aspects of operations and delivering an excellent guest experience as brand ambassador for the hotel. With direct reporting lines to the Board of Directors, I provided quarterly updates on KPIs including maximized operations to ensure profitability and guest satisfaction measures.
My passion for the industry has led me to open Maestros Hoteleros®, a Spanish based consultancy firm specializing in the hospitality and F&B industry with a focus on hotel management and administration. Services provided included: outsourced hotel management, valuations and feasibility studies, strategic business planning with owners and management teams, and opening new operations in Spain, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. Expertise has also been developed in disinvestment including leading negotiations with banks, unions, and other stakeholders, managing and minimizing risk for including labor and penal procedures as well as overseeing debt negotiations with suppliers, public institutions and liquidation of assets.
Currently enrolled in a Ph.D program focused on corporate social responsibility in the hospitality industry, I also hold an Executive MBA obtaining best in class for projects based on financial viability and attractiveness, and on Global Marketing and International Business Relations and Occupational Risk Prevention. Keen to pass on my experience and knowledge with students interested in working in the private sector I have also held teaching positions in Economics and Business across a number of universities and business schools in Spain including Rey Juan Carlos University and ESERP Business School.
