Dr Michael Palkowski is a Senior Lecturer within the Institute of Hospitality and Tourism at the University of East London, in the Royal Docks School of Business and Law. He is the programme leader for two courses at UEL – BA (Hons) Tourism Management (and associated pathways) and MSc Events and Hospitality Leadership. He is also the Department Lead for Academic Advising and acts as a Link Tutor for several partner colleges and institutions. Michael has over a decade of experience as a lecturer and academic leader, with expertise in course and module management, design and delivery.
He received his PhD from Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland, under the supervision of Professor Paul Lynch and Dr Elaine Thomson in October 2020. He is a certified external examiner (Advance HE) and is currently an EE at the University of Staffordshire, where he is also the Award Leader.Michael is an experienced PhD supervisor, involved in a range of projects in tourism and hospitality management. He is also an external PhD supervisor for a project at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), which uses comparative analysis to examine tourism operations in Iran and Turkey.
