My first foray into organising travel was ski trips to New Zealand in the early 1980’s. In 1985 I was smitten by the Himalayas after rafting the Zanskar River in the Indian Himalayas, then inadvertently pioneering the Lhasa to Kathmandu overland route, taking 24 wide-eyed travelers with me.

Even though I live in Australia, my heart has never left the majestic mountains and vibrant cultures of this region. Pre Nepal’s civil war I ran Trek Nepal. Post war I ran numerous journeys under my own name.

Now post-COVID, my partner Kristy Lea and I have teamed together to create Wanderlust Journeys, specialising in Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet.

Our love for the region, in-depth knowledge, and contacts allow us to create unique, immersive, and meaningful travel. Journeys where we break down the barriers, myths, and stereo-types, where travelers and locals can connect and share stories of their joys and struggles, create connections, and gain understanding.

Our first love is creating fully customized journeys, exclusively tailored to our clients’ individual needs.

And for those who are searching for new travel companions, we offer a few, very specialized group adventures every year. Deep dives into the mystical fabric of the Himalayas.

Wanderlust Journeys also has a strong program to give back to the local community and we strive to constantly improve our sustainability to help protect our fragile planet. From providing all clients with water purifying, self-cleaning bottles to running our office off solar power.

We don’t want to be the biggest travel company, we don’t want to contribute to the problems that already exist in developing countries. We want to craft the perfect itinerary and provide exceptional service to a small number of people each year, who care about our planet, and who have a deep desire to explore and connect with everyone and everything around them.
